Breckenridge is a very quaint late 1800’s mining town that over the years has become a world class ski area town that attracts outdoor adventure enthusiasts from around the world! There’s plenty of options for Breckenridge activities and trips in the summer. Most locals will tell you they came here for winter skiing, but stayed for the ideal summer climate and abundance of recreational activities.
Horseback Riding: Genuine western adventure with breathtaking scenery high in the Rockies. Several options to fit your schedule.
Dogsledding – summer style: These huskies love to run! Join the team for a fun new summertime activity in the Breckenridge area.
Other attractions: Country Boy Mine, Peak 8 Funpark, hiking, recreational bike path, skatepark, rec center and mountain bike trails.
Lake Dillon – kayaking & boat rentals in Frisco and Dillon. Both marinas have small, relaxed atmosphere restaurants with spectacular high mountain scenery overlooking the lake & the occasional osprey or bald eagle flyby.
Vail Pass Bike Tour: Let gravity take over while gliding down the bike path after getting a free shuttle to the top of Vail pass. Great activity on a warm summer day as you freewheel down one of the prettiest bike paths anywhere in the world!
Side trip: From Breckenridge take Boreas Pass to Como and then on to the South Park museum in Fairplay – a restored late 1800s mining town – and then back to Breckenridge on Hwy 9 North.
