Wildflower Hikes

During mid-summer months, our hills and slopes come alive with gorgeous wildflowers! Nature enthusiasts can view these delicate beauties all over Summit County, but we recommend slope-side at Breckenridge Ski Resort (take the free gondola up to peak 8 from town!), Boreas Pass Road, Baldy Mountain, and Hoosier Pass. Extra points if you take in the wildflowers from the seat of your mountain bike!

Speaking of mountain biking, did you know that Breckenridge is known for an incredible network of bike trails maintained by the Town of Breckenridge! Jump on the Boreas Pass bus (it’s free!) to catch a shuttle to the top, and take your pick from a variety of difficulty levels on your ride down. According to MTBProject.com, there are 41 beginner trails, 54 intermediate trails and 19 difficult trails to choose from in the Breckenridge area!

Scenic Drives

In Summit County, there are breathtaking mountain views around every corner! Sure, it’s great to experience these gorgeous mountains while hiking, biking, or rafting, but sometimes it’s nice to take it all in from the comfort of your own vehicle. Our favorite scenic drives vary from pavement to dirt, but they can be accessed without needing 4WD. Loveland Pass, Boreas Pass Road (Breckenridge to Como), and the loop from Breckenridge to Buena Vista and Leadville are a few of our top scenic drives!

Soak up Sunshine in Town

The Town of Breckenridge does an incredible job of welcoming visitors in every season. From shopping to dining and happy hours, there is no shortage of places to visit and things to do! The upper Blue River, runs through town, and is a very special place to soak up sunshine and enjoy the mountain atmosphere. We recommend checking out the Riverwalk Center at the Blue River Plaza for the best people watching! Make sure to check out the Breckenridge Welcome Center for all your activity planning and local questions!
