This section of river is home to Colorado’s largest herd of bighorn sheep and is an ideal whitewater rafting trip for beginners or first-timers!

Bighorn Sheep Canyon is a section of the Arkansas River, and accesses the Royal Gorge area from Canon City, CO.

This section offers beautiful canyon scenery with exciting whitewater and occasional Bighorn sheep sightings.

Though the amount of time on the river varies based on conditions, you can expect to be on the river for about 4 hours, covering approximately 20 miles.

Yes! This is one of the most family friendly trip options on the Arkansas River in the Royal Gorge/ Canon City area.

This trip meets 30 minutes prior to departure time at our Royal Gorge Office.

Once you have arrived at the office that your trip departs from, Performance Tours will provide all shuttles. We have ample parking at all of our offices.

Lunch is served on FULL DAY trips only. It is a delicious buffet style lunch provided with a beverage. You may bring non-alcoholic canned beverages if desired. Usually our lunch consists of a buffet style sandwich spread with meats, cheeses, various veggies, chips, fruits and more. Lunch is enjoyed on our office patio on the 3/4 day trips or riverside on the full day trips.
