Amazing August Rafting Conditions
Late Summer Rafting is Perfect! Now Offering September Raft Trips on the Arkansas River.
It’s an exciting summer for whitewater! Rafting is ideal right now and mid-August trips are still providing plenty of splash – with conditions that closely resemble late-June and July flows. In addition, above-average water supplies in the mountains will extend the whitewater rafting season on the Arkansas River through Labor Day and into September.
August is always beautiful in Buena Vista, CO. With warm temperatures and lots of sunshine, spending a day on the river is an attractive activity for Colorado visitors and locals alike. With average temperatures in the mid-’70s, warm weather on the Arkansas River typically continues through mid-September. For instance, this summer we have enough water to raft past Labor Day, and commercial rafting guests have the opportunity to experience this magical time.
Guests can choose from half-day or full-day rafting trips on the Arkansas River. Browns Canyon National Monument offers splashy class 2-3 whitewater rapids, perfect for beginners. Meanwhile, Squaw Creek provides a mellow and relaxing float option for families with younger children looking to get one last splash out of summer 2019.
Closeout summer with a memorable river adventure. To sum it up, you can make memories this August and September that you’ll be talking about until next Spring! Our friendly, experienced raft guides are ready to bring you and your family rafting.
