Performance Tours was founded in 1986 by Kevin and Mary Jo Foley in Breckenridge, Colorado. More than four decades later, it remains a family-owned and operated business, with Kevin and Mary Jo still actively involved alongside their children, Kathryn (General Manager) and Dan (raft guide).
That family foundation shapes everything we do—from how we train our guides to how we welcome guests. When you raft with us, you’re not just booking a trip—you’re joining a long-standing Colorado river tradition built on passion, experience, and care for every guest who joins us on the water.
We are incredibly proud of our unsurpassed safety record. All raft guides go through a rigorous state-required guide certification program. Performance Tours exceeds the State of Colorado’s requirements for guides by doubling the minimum number of training hours
Since 1986, we have brought more than 600k guests down the river. Our guides are experts at reading the rivers and reservation staff know the answers to your questions. Performance Tours knows how to deliver the ultimate whitewater adventure.

"Great Experience! I had my first rafting experience with Performance. I selected the Number because I wanted to white water raft, not float. Even though it was late in the year, we still had quite a few good 4s and 5s, so the action and fun were there to be enjoyed. Benny and Kelly were our guides and could not have been more fun. Not only did they stress safety, but they also made it fun. Benny might have a comedy stand-up one day. Overall, I could not be more pleased and look forward to my next rafting trip with Performance. “I just finished my second trip with PTWe did the full-day Royal Gorge with Tye as our guide, and it was fantastic! He knows the river and lots of Old West history of the area he shared on the trip. I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shoutout to all-star PT employee ginger Joe. My partner was freezing when we stopped for lunch, so Joe called for a wetsuit to be brought down for him! I know what they say about his kind, but this guy definitely has a soul. Great trip, great company. I will book with them again next time.”

“I went down with a large group of people and we had THE BEST TIME EVER!!! The ladies in the office answered all my questions (and there were a LOT), sent the forms I needed (several times) and were super flexible as my group changed numbers several times. "Me and my wife Jessica do a lot of traveling and we like to do the more adventures activities like skydiving, shark diving, stuff like that. Over the years we have experienced many tour guides and our tour guide today whose name is Kurt was by far one of the very BEST that we have ever had. He was very genuine and actually engaged with us in unforced conversation. Many tour guides come across as “ robots “ because they have been doing their job for so long and it’s the same ole thing for them day in and day out. But not Kurt. He was GREAT!! I would recommend this white water rafting company to ANYONE and EVERYONE who is looking for some adventure!!"
